Spiritual Living includes Fun!

Recently, I began watching YouTube videos on vintage Barbie dolls, those that were created from 1959 to about 1967. I always loved the look of this era of Barbie, probably because it evokes happy childhood memories, as I played with my own set of Barbie dolls in the early '60s. (Yes, I’m that old-LOL!). There are various videos on them, some concentrating on the clothes and some on the dolls. I once wanted to display and film my Barbies the way these videos have done, so it’s nice to see them displayed so marvelously. Also, there are a few Facebook groups available with lots of info about vintage Barbies and lots of wonderful photos. I just started to post pics of my own dolls on one of these groups.

I find great joy in pursuing this collecting hobby. I have quite a few of them that I’ve collected over the years, and I’m slowly putting them out again for display as opposed to keeping them in storage. Some are Never Removed From the Box (NRFB?), some are out of their boxes. Most are modern, although I do have a few reproductions of the vintage Barbie, which, as stated, I adore. I’m still searching for my own original Barbie and Midge, although I have found Ken, Skipper, Tutti, Todd, and Scotter, as well as Ricky, a friend of Skipper and Scotter. If I go on eBay, some of these original dolls are worth quite a bit, although I’m not ready to sell. Perhaps one day.

Being spiritual doesn’t always mean crystals and meditation. It’s about living your life, every day, in a fulfilled manner. Right now, while there may be storms outside, I am focusing on what makes me smile. Currently, that is playing with my childhood dolls and making new, fun memories.
